Wind

The wind whistles, the fireplace flue moans and cracks.  Just another night in the front range of Colorado. The gusts carry the fallen snow across the roads making white out conditions and ice slicks across front porches.  The wind chimes make their fatigued music outside, unable to take a break from their constant clanging.  The swings in the park sway front to back as if ghostly children are pumping them higher and higher.  And as quickly as it began, it dies away.  All is still and silent.  The birds and trees rejoice only to be jostled and tossed again come the next nightfall.  This is life in the Colorado front range.
